Outside Sales Representative

Job Description:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Excellent customer service by developing rapport and strengthening relationships with all customers external and internal.
  • Grow current accounts and bring in new accounts to achieve documented sales targets.
  • Responds to customers inquiries quickly, professionally and willing to go the extra mile for odd items or requests.
  • Manages a set territory, developing long standing relationships as well as developing new products and programs.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and communicate customer sales results daily as well as communicating vital information to the sales group.
  • Follow up with customers on inquiries, requests, new products daily.
  • Work with the existing sales team to assist in growing territory.

Job Requirements:

  • 5 years minimum industry experience with Inside Sales experience prior to Outside Sales experience.
  • Product knowledge of Carbon and Alloy Steel, Aluminum, Stainless steel and other ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
  • Strategic thinker, able to start, develop and finish new programs and opportunities on their own and with the help of a team.
  • Highly motivated / Self-directed, requiring little supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a strong ability to interact well with others.
  • Strong analytical, time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Post-Secondary education in sales and marketing or business management
  • Clean driving record (abstract required)

Assets:

  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Experience with processing and manufacturing.
  • Mechanically inclined
  • A genuine interest in machining and the products made in this manner
